The Peninsula Specialist College project is a major redevelopment initiative under the Victorian School Building Authority, aimed at modernising and upgrading the school to meet rapidly increasing demand for specialist education in this high-growth region. The project combines the refurbishment of existing facilities with new purpose-built spaces to create contemporary, inclusive learning environments tailored to the needs of students with disabilities. As part of a broader integrated master planning process for the adjoining community precinct, the redevelopment enhances accessibility, safety, and functionality, ensuring the school can deliver high-quality, comprehensive state education for the Mornington Peninsula community.
The upgrade includes the construction of a new permanent facility featuring modern learning areas, a staff room, a sensory room, and associated amenities, supported by improved landscape works designed to strengthen external learning opportunities. The project also involves the removal of outdated relocatable buildings to create a more cohesive and efficient campus layout. Together, these works deliver a significant uplift in educational capacity and infrastructure, enabling Peninsula Specialist College to respond effectively to current and future enrolment pressures while providing a welcoming, purpose-built environment for students, staff, and families.
