The Parliament of Victoria Perimeter Intrusion Detection System Project delivers a critical upgrade to the security infrastructure safeguarding the Parliament House precinct. The project introduces advanced intrusion-detection technology, supported by detailed site assessments, and civil works designed to enhance real-time perimeter monitoring and ensure reliable protection of this high-priority government facility.
Given the landmark status of Parliament House and its significant heritage overlays, all works were meticulously planned and carried out to preserve the integrity of the heritage gardens and architectural fabric. Videre Group’s structured and collaborative approach ensured that security enhancements were seamlessly integrated within a highly sensitive heritage environment, balancing operational imperatives with preservation requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Stakeholder Involvement including Public Sector Agencies
Videre was required to manage extensive stakeholder groups (both internal and external) and all with competing priorities. Internal stakeholders included Parliament of Victoria, PoV AVIT and PoV Security. External stakeholders who required consultation and input for use within the final built form included Heritage Victoria and City of Melbourne.
Project Outcomes
Despite the complexity of delivering critical security upgrades within a heritage-sensitive and operationally constrained precinct, Videre Group successfully delivered the Perimeter Intrusion Detection System through close and regular communication with the Parliament of Victoria and its stakeholders.
