The Wangaratta Courts DDA and Security Upgrades project focused on re-imagining how the community interacts with the courthouse, greatly improving accessibility, safety, and the overall public experience. The works included a complete redevelopment of the courthouse forecourt to deliver DDA-compliant access, clear wayfinding signage, upgraded services, hostile vehicle mitigation measures, and improved pedestrian flow throughout the precinct.
Internally, the security upgrade introduced significant enhancements to ensure safe, controlled interaction between the general public and registry staff. This included a comprehensive new access control system, expanded CCTV coverage, secure public-private interface upgrades, strengthened window and door security, modified staff and judiciary back-of-house entry. Additional improvements included the installation of modern screening and scanning equipment to support safe and efficient public entry.
