The Footscray Primary School project was a major redevelopment initiative delivered under the Victorian School Building Authority as part of the broader Footscray Learning Precinct, designed to create modern, flexible learning environments that reflect contemporary education standards. The upgrade involved the construction of new facilities alongside the refurbishment of existing spaces, including a new two-storey learning hub, flexible classrooms, breakout areas, and sensory retreat spaces that support diverse learning styles. These works significantly enhanced the school’s capacity, delivering an additional 200 enrolment places for local families and aligning the campus with VSBA’s vision for innovative, inclusive, and community-focused education. Complementing these internal upgrades, the project also introduced brighter, more accessible spaces with improved circulation, ensuring the environment supports both collaborative and independent learning for students of all abilities.
The redevelopment also delivered a new covered outdoor learning area (COLA), providing a sheltered, multi-purpose space for outdoor play, learning activities, and broader community use. As a key component of the Footscray Learning Precinct, the project strengthens education pathways across Melbourne’s inner west, building on the area’s cultural richness and supporting new models of learning, including the school’s bilingual program. Videre’s delivery of the project has created a future-ready campus featuring state-of-the-art facilities, enhanced inclusivity, and modern learning zones that enable students to engage, collaborate, and thrive within a renewed and connected school environment.
