Malvern Collective included the delivery of 254 apartments and stands as a landmark mixed-use development set in the vibrant heart of Malvern, seamlessly blending residential, commercial, and community-focused spaces to redefine urban living. This visionary project was designed to invigorate the local precinct by offering an architecturally striking environment that serves both residents and the wider community.
With a focus on both utility and aesthetic excellence, Malvern Collective integrates high-quality apartments, premium retail outlets, flexible office spaces, and thoughtfully designed community areas. The project is conceived to foster a sense of community while providing world-class amenities, activating the surrounding urban fabric and enhancing lifestyle options for all who live, work, and visit the precinct. A significant emphasis is placed on heritage, with extensive façade retention works preserving the character and history of the site. Residential Excellence: Architecturally designed apartments and penthouses offering city and parkland views, with high-end finishes and sustainable living features. Heritage Façade Retention: Extensive works to conserve and incorporate the site’s historic façades, maintaining a tangible link to Malvern’s unique heritage within the new development. This includes the full fit-out of a bar within one of the heritage façade interfaces, seamlessly integrating contemporary social spaces with the preserved historical character.
Stakeholder Involvement including Public Sector Agencies
A range of stakeholders have contributed to this project, including Local Council, Utility Authorities, Vic Roads, Vic Rail, Metro and Yarra Trams. Videre have been involved in liaising with Public Sector stakeholders and have facilitated discussions and outcomes that have been integral to the project.
Project Outcomes
Although the project experienced delays, quality standards were consistently upheld and even enhanced during development. The client considers the project successful, notwithstanding some limitations regarding integration with the community train station. Despite many challenges that this project has experienced, Videre have been essential in mitigating the effect that the project issues have had.
