The Shepparton Campus Reimagined project is a transformative upgrade and modernization initiative for La Trobe University’s Nursing and Midwifery program. It involves the construction of a new two-storey building and the refurbishment of existing spaces on Levels 01 and 02 to house advanced Nursing Simulation Laboratories. Delivered within a live campus environment, the project also includes minor landscaping works and environmental upgrades such as de-gassing and the installation of EV charging stations. This initiative reflects La Trobe’s commitment to regional education excellence and sustainability, while showcasing Videre’s expertise in delivering tertiary projects with high levels of integrated technology.
Key deliverables included the construction of the new two-storey building, refurbishment of existing spaces for simulation labs, installation of EV charging stations, and achievement of Net Zero status as La Trobe’s first gas-free campus. The project faced challenges such as space management requiring decanting and relocation of staff, and stakeholder engagement with local government and industry partners. Videre addressed these challenges through a robust project management strategy, implementing a coordinated decanting plan, enforcing design compliance for timely permit approvals, and fostering community engagement. These solutions ensured uninterrupted construction access, risk mitigation, and successful delivery of a sustainable, future-ready campus.
Stakeholder Involvement including Public Sector Agencies
Key stakeholders included La Trobe University leadership, faculty representatives, user groups, and operational staff, all of whom contributed to the planning and delivery of the facility.
Project Outcomes
This project included the delivery of Nursing and Midwifery sim labs and associated spaces for LTU’s Shepparton campus, the de-gassing of the campus and installation of EV charging stations for environmental and ESD Upgrades.
Works were delivered within a live environment and Videre undertook significant staging and constructability workshops to ensure minimal disruption to the building occupants.
