The Bendigo Dental & Oral Health project is a transformative refurbishment of La Trobe University’s Clinical Teaching (CT) Building, designed to deliver a cutting-edge 16-bed Dental Simulation Laboratory equipped with advanced technology. The development also includes modern breakout spaces, AV-integrated teaching areas, and culturally safe facilities for First Nations students. This initiative aims to elevate regional dental education standards, provide redundancy support for local hospitals, and enable the launch of Victoria’s first Master-level degree in dental and oral health. Delivered within a live campus environment, the project reflects La Trobe University’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, and sustainability.
Key deliverables include the construction of the Dental Simulation Laboratory, refurbishment of existing CT Building spaces, creation of collaborative learning zones, and installation of advanced audiovisual systems. The project faced significant challenges such as maintaining operational continuity during construction, coordinating design documentation to avoid costly variations, and managing space constraints within an active campus. Videre addressed these challenges through strategic staging, detailed design coordination, and proactive stakeholder engagement. By implementing a robust operational strategy and leveraging advanced planning tools, the team ensured minimal disruption, compliance with sustainability goals, and timely delivery of this landmark project.
