Building B176 L2&4 Refurbishment

The Building B176 Levels 2 & 4 project is a strategic refurbishment initiative aimed at upgrading existing facilities to deliver modern, flexible spaces that support advanced teaching and research functions. The project involves the transformation of outdated areas into state-of-the-art environments equipped with integrated audiovisual technology and collaborative zones. This upgrade enhances functionality, accessibility, and sustainability, aligning with contemporary standards for tertiary education infrastructure.

Key deliverables include the refurbishment of Levels 2 and 4 to create high-tech teaching spaces, installation of cutting-edge AV systems, and provision of adaptable breakout areas for group learning and research collaboration. The project faced challenges such as managing construction within a live campus environment, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and adhering to strict timelines to minimize disruption. Videre addressed these challenges through detailed staging plans, proactive stakeholder engagement, and robust risk management strategies. By leveraging advanced planning tools and sustainability-focused solutions, the team ensured timely delivery, compliance with institutional standards, and the creation of a future-ready facility that supports excellence in education and research.

Misalignment in the briefing caused budget pressure throughout the project, which was further increased by the numerous latent conditions encountered during construction. Despite this budget pressure, the project team worked closely together to value manage at various points, enabling the project to be delivered to scope and within budget. The project has been nominated for Master Builders Award of Construction Excellence.
